World's Largest Solar Energy Fair Gathers Companies from 95 Countries in China

Between the 24th, 25th and 26th of May, the International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference and Exhibition in Shanghai, China. In this edition, the 16th SNEC, considered the largest solar energy fair in the world, brings with it several novelties and advances for the sector. Located in Pundog, the event brings together approximately 2,800 companies and a range of exhibitors from 95 countries. With this global scope, the fair promotes an environment conducive to the exchange of knowledge, the establishment of partnerships and the impetus to the growth of solar energy worldwide.

SNEC, as the most professional photovoltaic exhibition, offers a wide range of photovoltaic fabrication facilities, materials, photovoltaic cells, photovoltaic application products and modules, photovoltaic design and systems, as well as energy storage and mobile energy. The fair covers all sections of the photovoltaic industry chain, consolidating itself as a comprehensive and essential event for the sector.

The SNEC Conference is composed of several programs that address different topics, such as PV industry market trends, collaboration and development strategies, policy directions of different countries, advanced industrial technologies, PV financing and investment, among others. It's an unmissable opportunity to stay up-to-date on technology and the market, as well as present results to the community and network with industry experts, academics, entrepreneurs and peers.

Brazil Plans to Invest R$ 50 Billion (Us$ 9.5 Billion) in Transmission Line Expansion and Infrastructure to Boost Solar and Wind Power

Brazil is preparing to unlock new wind and solar power capacities with significant investment in transmission. The Ministry of Mines and Energy announced its intention to focus on hybrid solar and wind energy projects, seeking greater stability for the country's electrical grid, known as the National Interconnected System (SIN). These combined projects will allow for simpler homologation and interconnection processes, consolidating the two energy sources under the same network and concession.

Photovoltaic solar energy represents about 12% of Brazil's energy matrix, with most of the energy coming from hydroelectric plants. However, the country has seen a notable increase in solar energy development in recent years, consolidating its position as a promising emerging market for photovoltaics. With this new investment in transmission, Brazil is taking an important step towards further boosting the share of renewable energies in its energy matrix and diversifying its power generation base.

The initiative reflects Brazil's commitment to promoting the transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources, contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating the impacts of climate change. These efforts are expected to drive growth in Brazil's renewable energy sector, creating job opportunities and strengthening the country's energy security.

With its abundance of natural resources, Brazil is well positioned to become a global leader in the renewable energy sector. Investment in transmission will help leverage the full potential of solar and wind energy, promoting a more sustainable and resilient future for the country.
