Google Signs Contract with Kronos Solar EDPR for Solar Energy

Kronos Solar EDPR, a solar power plant developer controlled by EDP Renováveis, has signed a long-term solar power sales agreement with Google. The deal marks Kronos' entry into the Dutch market and brings Google closer to its goal of running 100% on renewable energy by 2030.
The negotiation involves energy generated by four photovoltaic plants under development in the Netherlands, which add up to 50 MWp. These projects are located in the provinces of Smallingerland, Friesland and Gelderland and will feature more than 85,000 bifacial solar panels.
Kronos Solar EDPR has extensive experience in solar projects. Demonstrated through more than 80 projects completed in nine countries and a portfolio of more than 9 GW of projects in different stages of development. With the acquisition of 70% from Kronos, EDP Renováveis expanded its presence in markets such as Holland and Germany, being present in 13 European countries. Over the next 15 years, Kronos Solar EDPR and Google have established a strategic partnership that will produce more than 49 GWh of clean energy annually.
EDP Renováveis plans to deploy 17 GW of renewable energy by 2026 and sees the partnership with Kronos Solar as a way to boost its strategy and delivery capacity. The agreement between Kronos Solar EDPR and Google reinforces the companies' commitment to the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable energy matrix.
This process boosts the use of solar energy and contributes to the reduction of carbon emissions. This partnership represents an important step in the search for a greener future aligned with global sustainability goals.
