7th International Conference RESEE2023 Promotes Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency

The 7th International Conference on Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Efficiency (RESEE2023) is scheduled to take place on October 12-14, 2023, at the Hilton Hotel, Nicosia, Cyprus. Organized by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry (MECI) of Cyprus and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the conference aims to bring together leaders and experts from the sector to share best practices and discuss strategies to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy technologies and promote energy efficiency in Cyprus and similar economies.

Building on the success of the previous six editions, held since 2007, RESEE2023 promises to be a comprehensive discussion forum, covering a wide range of topics related to renewable energy and energy efficiency. Some of the topics that will be covered include:

  1. Renewable energy sources and technologies.
  2. Long-term energy planning and strategies for the Cyprus National Energy and Climate Plan (PNEC).
  3. Geothermal applications for heating and cooling.
  4. Island and regional cooperation.
  5. Island tourism.
  6. Digitization and blockchain technology.
  7. Security of energy supply.
  8. Electric mobility and charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
  9. Energy communities and active consumers.
  10. Energy efficiency in buildings.
  11. Weather forecast for renewable energy.
  12. Rural electrification.
  13. Energy markets.
  14. Desalination solutions for islands.
  15. Green hydrogen and battery storage, among others.

The event is an opportunity for policymakers, researchers, scientists, manufacturers, businesses, community representatives, development agencies, international organizations, financial institutions, the private sector and governments to share knowledge about the latest innovations and successful practices in the field renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Furthermore, RESEE2023 will provide an enabling environment for establishing partnerships and collaborations aimed at overcoming the barriers and challenges that often impede the widespread adoption of clean technologies.

A notable feature of this conference is the focus on participation by United Nations Peacekeeping Missions from around the world. These missions seek to decarbonize their energy supply systems and reduce their environmental footprint, contributing to the UN Secretary-General's Climate Action Plan goal of achieving 80% of renewable energy by 2030.

RESEE2023 promises to be a pivotal event to promote the transition to cleaner and more efficient energy sources, with the potential to shape the energy future of Cyprus and other global economies towards greater sustainability and energy security.
