Allianz and CIP Seek €5.4 Billion in Energy Islands

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Allianz applied for permission to build two artificial energy islands in the German North Sea, with the aim of connecting 10 GW of offshore wind energy. The islands will be connected by submarine cables to transmit the energy generated by the offshore wind turbines. In addition, the islands will be able to produce green hydrogen through electrolysers. The project can have a significant impact on the creation of green jobs and local economic development. The initiative led by Allianz and CIP demonstrates the private sector's commitment to driving change and promoting innovative solutions to address the climate crisis.
